The low cost alternative to setting up your own Corporate Presence in Australia !

The AAS™ has been developed to assist non-Australian Manufacturers to meet the market entry requirements of Australia, under the new regime imposed by the Telecommunication Act of 1997 and Radiocommunications Act of 1992 (The Acts).
The AAS™ is the non-Australian manufacturer's route to complying with the Communications performance, Electrical Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility requirements of Australia.

This service is provided as an additional function of the ETS Asia-Pacific Office (ETSA) which acts as the legal entity or Importer of communications equipment into Australia, providing manufacturers with the flexibility they require for product distribution channels.

Under the new regime, the Australian legal entity (or Importer) must perform a Competent Engineering Function in addition to holding and maintain a Compliance Folder / Technical Construction File for each item (cabling or equipment) supplied to the Australian market. The current interpretation by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) means that the 'Brass Plate' approach offered by Solicitors, Law Firms and Accountants is now no longer a viable option.

“Competent Engineering Function” means the activities conducted by ETSA to ensure continued regulatory compliance of both the item and the maintenance of the associated compliance folder. Where this activity is essential to ensure the act of applying and using the compliance mark(s) or non-compliance mark does not result in the breach of the Acts.

“supply” includes supply (including re-supply) by way of sale, exchange, lease, hire or hire-purchase.
