
Do you need an independent local in-country agent?
In many countries it is a legal / regulatory requirement for manufacturer's of electrical, electronic and communications products to have a local point of contact. Typically there will be type approval licences, certifications or other licenses that require a legal entity in country.
Most manufacturers will typcially utilise their local channel distributor in country, however, some manufacturer's understand that commercially this can create problems when they want to expand their channel. Normally a distributor will want to negotiate increased discounts in exchange for providing the local presence service. However, if the distributors company name is on the type approval license or permit then they will have leverage should you ever wish to change your channel arrangements (e.g. increase your distributor base or cancel an arrangement due to poor sales performance).
Some manufacturers have recognised the value of utilising ETS as their local agent, independent of their sales channel. We add value because we also have the regulatory and certification knowledge that many channel partners will lack.
