New Zealand - Importation & Market Access
The aim of ETS is to minimise the cost of regulatory compliance to importers, exporters and manufacturers of electrical, electronic, telecommunications and radiocommunication equipment.
ETS provides the route for OEMs and channel partners to meet the regulatory requirements for holding TelePermits (Type Approval licenses) and making declarations to the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) Radio Spectrum Management (RSM).
ETS is registered with RSM to hold a unique Supplier Code Number (SCN), this authorises ETS to use the C-tick compliance mark. Almost all electrical and Radio products placed on the New Zealand market are required to display either the C-Tick or RSM compliance labelling and Supplier Code Number.
ETS works with its' clients to achieve the following:
- Conformity assessment
- Standards (mandatory standards) compliance
- Regulatory compliance (documentation and product labelling)
The following countries have mutual recognition arrangements (MRAs) with New Zealand:

These agreements are utilised to ensure that we are maximising your return on investment, in relation to the costs associated with demonstrating that your product is compliant. Under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Arrangement with Australia, ETS is also able to facilitate direct acceptance of compliant, correctly labelled electrical & telecommunications products and some radio products across both Australian and New Zealand markets.
